Creating a Peaceful and Thriving world,
one person at a time.

The Fresh For Life Foundation

Get involved: We have 2 current Fundraiser opportunities for you to support the program that provides support, hope, opportunities and self-confidence for At-Risk Youth in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Vision:

To create and implement a cultural shift within Alberta’s social systems where healing from generational trauma and systemic poverty is facilitated through wrap-around Transitional Programming in partnership with other Alberta Agencies.

Mission:

Provide a mentorship-based training transitional programming network and scholarship funding to educate and support At-Risk Youth and Young Adults to heal trauma and learn productive, creative, and healthy life skills founded on self-empowerment, and delivered through customized one-on-one sessions, long term mentorships, and rural retreat experiences to support their success in the workforce and in their overall livelihood.

Our Principles:

  • Provide holistic healing and self-empowerment education to At-Risk Youth and young adults who suffer from trauma
  • To ensure at-risk youth and young adults have the chance to engage in positive relationships and interactions that can help them develop into healthy and productive adults
  • To collaborate with community agencies and organizations to facilitate transition and integration into communities, their families, and the workforce with ongoing physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial support that will ensure their long-term success

We are meant to Thrive,
Not just to be Alive!

Why support FFLF:

Mental health illness and trauma remains the foundation for systematic poverty, addiction, violence, homelessness, and an overall low quality of life. The Fresh For Life Foundation is here to halt this cycle and provide alternative opportunities to youth and young adults who are ready to heal, and to discover their true path in life throughout a series of holistic approaches that cater to each individual.

Through group classes, one-on-one sessions, and rural self-discovery retreats, Fresh For Life Foundation will recreate the benchmark for assisting individuals to succeed longterm in all aspects of their lives, thereby providing relief from poverty and ending a dependance upon the social welfare system.

Programs and Offerings:

  • One-on-one holistic coaching (music and wellness) sessions, trauma recovery coaching
  • Group classes in Mental Health and Wellness: emotional intelligence and awareness, meditation, stress management, and self-empowerment
  • Entrepreneurial Training Program (taught in conjunction with Legacy Children’s Foundation): business planning and development, leadership skills, networking, skill development
  • Youth Retreats: nature adventures, elder teachings, music and art training, self-expression classes, trauma recovery classes
  • Current Program Locations: CYOC, EXCEL, St. Gemma’s Outreach School

The 3 Results Our Programs Aiming to Achieve:

1 – To support and inspire At-Risk Youth to discover their passions by introducing them to industry professionals who were once At-Risk Youth themselves and have turned their lives around to achieve their goals in the Urban Music and Art scene, leadership/team building, problem solving, wellness and mental health, and holistic healing industries of Calgary.

2 – To coach At-Risk Youth through transitional processes in social systems to use tools to manage their mental health including anxiety/depression/trauma, while also learning to set goals and achieve them. This will inspire the Youth towards job coaching/entrepreneurship including the ET program and ReMiX Rural Retreat Training.

3 – To provide At-Risk Youth with opportunities to make healthy friendships with their peers, create long-lasting mentorships with professional musicians and mentors in a safe and friendly environment, and to stay in school/training with increased self-confidence, independance, a solid transitions team around them, and a positive outlook towards their future.

Fundraising Goals

Our 5-year goal includes raising $850,000+ in donations and investments to run our programs, scholarships, and the purchase of a Retreat Centre/Youth Camp property in Alberta.

We are gearing up to launch a 2-year Music & Wellness Mentorship program for At-Risk Youth who are transitioning out of incarceration, and an after-school program at a local Outreach school.

We would like to thank all of our donors and investors, as every amount helps!

A SPECIAL THANKS goes to Legacy Children’s Foundation for their recent contribution of $5300 that will be used to run 1:1 DJ & Wellness sessions with At-Risk Youth in Calgary!

A TAX RECEIPT will be issued for DONATIONS over $100. All donation amounts are welcomed and encouraged. Every bit helps to make an impact!
